Hi, I’m Lisa — a quilter, pattern designer, and garden grower from New London, Connecticut.
I’ve been quilting for about 15 years, and somewhere along the way it stopped being just a hobby and became something I truly need. In March I began designing surface patterns in Adobe Illustrator — still learning, still growing, with a little help from the incredible Bonnie Christine — and something shifted. Creating became my peace.
I’m 65 and still working full time in a corporate world that doesn’t always see my worth. Some days are hard. Some seasons feel uncertain. But when I sit down to design a pattern, tend my zinnia garden, or piece together a quilt — the worry quiets. Beauty has a way of doing that.
This blog is for women like me. Older women, younger women, any woman who has ever felt overlooked, exhausted, or unsure — but who picks up a needle, a paintbrush, or a seed packet anyway. Because creating is how we find peace. It’s how we remind ourselves and each other that beauty is still possible, that we are still capable, and that we are never truly alone.
