When Foundation Paper Piecing Isn’t as Easy as It Looks

Here’s what I’m learning so far:

• Going slow matters more than I want it to. Rushing through the trim is where most of my mistakes happen.

• A good rotary cutter and a clear ruler make a real difference over regular scissors, especially on those tight points.

• Folding the paper back firmly along the stitch line before trimming helps me see exactly where I should be cutting.

I haven’t fully solved this one yet — I’m still working through it block by block.  But that’s part of why I wanted to write this post. If you’ve done FPP before and figured out a trick that makes trimming less nerve-wracking, I’d genuinely love to hear it in the comments. And if you’re newer to FPP like me and thinking “wait, is this supposed to be this fiddly?” — yes. Yes it is. You’re not doing it wrong, it’s just a skill that takes reps.
